Dr. Stratas is board certified in psychiatry. Specialty areas include goal/growth-oriented systemic, cognitive, behavioral, and insight psychotherapy with adults, couples, and families. He also provides professional, executive, and organization consultation and development and training to mental health practitioners. He is a senior or honorary staff member of all hospitals in Raleigh. He is founder, co-founder, and/or developer of several programs in mental health, developmental disabilities, and substance abuse. He has faculty appointments at Duke University and the University of North Carolina. He is a past president of the North Carolina Medical Board. Dr. Barringer is board certified in psychiatry. He is 55 years old and has worked at RPA for 25 years. He provides evaluations and consultations for individuals and couples. Psychiatric management includes education, brief and long-term psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, and psychopharmacology. Specialty areas include general psychiatry, anxiety disorders, and alternative treatments of depression. He received his undergraduate degree at UNC - Chapel Hill and his M.D. at Tulane. He completed his psychiatry residency at University of Cincinatti. He was selected by Best Doctors for psychiatry in Raleigh for 2005 and 2006. He has been married for 34 years and has 3 grown children. He enjoys many outdoor activities.

James E. Bellard, M.D.
Dr. Bellard is board certified in psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. He maintains both clinical and forensic practices at RPA. In his clinical practice he provides pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy for adult patients and specializes in treatment-resistant depression and midlife issues. In his forensic practice he accepts referrals from lawyers involving criminal and civil court cases as well as providing independent medical evaluations and evaluations for the medical board and bar. He has testified in court over one hundred times in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. Dr. Bellard received his B.A. from the University of Virginia, his M.D. from Emory University School of Medicine, and completed his psychiatry residency at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a member of the American Academy of Psychiatry and Law, the American College of Forensic Psychiatry, the American and North Carolina Psychiatric Associations, and the North Carolina Medical Society.

Thomas R. Spruill, M.D.
Dr. Spruill is board certified in psychiatry. Specialty areas include psychopharmacology of treatment-resistant depression, anxiety disorders, psychiatric complications of medical illness, chronic pain management, alternative therapies, attention-deficit disorder, chronic fatigue syndrome, and fibromyalgia. He provides short- to intermediate-term, solution-focused psychotherapy. He received his M.D. from Louisiana State University in New Orleans, LA. Phillip L. Hillsman, M.D., F.A.P.A.
Dr. Hillsman is board certified in general psychiatry and addiction psychiatry through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Specialty areas include addictions and substance abuse, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, recovery issues, medication management, individual psychotherapy, forensic services, and independent medical evaluations. Dr. Hillsman has been in private practice in Raleigh since 1992. He received his B.S. degree from King College in Bristol, Tennessee and his M.D. from the University of Tennessee in Memphis, Tennessee. He completed his psychiatric residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. Dr. Hillsman is a member of the North Carolina Medical Society, the American Psychiatric Association, and the North Carolina Psychiatric Association. He is a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a past president of the North Carolina Society of Addiction Medicine.

Cherry Chevy, M.D.
Dr. Chevy is board certified in general psychiatry. She has specialty training in child and adolescent psychiatry. She provides psychiatric evaluation, psychiatric medication management and supportive individual psychotherapy for children and adults. Specialty areas include treatment of ADHD, depression, anxiety and cross-cultural issues. She provides psychiatric consultation to pediatricians and other primary care physicians. She is a clinical instructor at Duke University Medical Center in the Division of Child and Adolescent psychiatry and director of psychiatric services at the Center for Child and Family Health in Durham. Rhonda H. Stahl, M.D.
Dr. Stahl is board certified in general psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry. She provides medication management, supportive and educational therapy, independent medical evaluations, and forensic services. Her specialty areas include adult and geriatric psychopharmacology, depression, bipolar disorder, dementia and memory disorders, anxiety disorders, medically ill populations, and women's issues. Dr. Hazen is board certified in licensed clinical social work. She provides insight-oriented, cognitive-behavioral, hypnosis, systems, and interpersonal psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and families. Work is goal-oriented. Specialty areas include trauma and recovery, women's issues, marital and interpersonal problems, and personal growth work. She offers expertise in time-limited psychotherapy approaches and ethical standards of care in psychotherapy. She received her B.A. degree at Lenoir-Rhyne College, her M.S.W. degree at Smith College School for Social Work, and her Ph.D. at Boston University. She completed internships at Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute and the Eastern Philadelphia Family Service Agency. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, the National Association of Social Workers, and the Society for Clinical Social Workers. She has also presented and published on crisis intervention, psychotherapy, personal growth, nurturing healthy relationships, negotiating divorce and other stressors, and ethical standards in psychotherapy.

Clarence Boyd, M.S.W., L.C.S.W.
Mr. Boyd is board certified in licensed clinical social work. He specializes in couple and family consultation and therapy. He also provides supervision and training of mental health practitioners in family therapy. Dana Fennell, M.S.N., R. N., C.S.
Ms. Fennell is nationally board certified in psychiatry and mental health as a clinical nurse specialist. She works with adolescents, adults, and older adults as well as couples and families. She has expertise in psychotherapy with medical evaluation and management, cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychodynamic/interpersonal issues. She also specializes in the practice and teaching of healing touch and Qigong. She received her B.S.N. and M.S.N. degree in psychiatric and mental health nursing at UNC-Chapel Hill.

Frank D. Castlebury, III, Ph.D.
Dr. Castlebury is board certified in psychology. He provides cognitive-behavioral, insight-oriented, and interpersonal therapy for adults, adolescents, and couples. Specialty areas include the anxiety disorders spectrum, providing treatment for panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and generalized anxiety. Zachary Feldman, M.D.
Dr. Feldman is board certified in general psychiatry and has completed fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry. He provides medication management, individual psychotherapy, and family interventions for children, adolescent and adults. He utilizes alternative/complementary therapies when indicated as part of treatment. His specialty areas include mood disorders, anxiety disorders (including generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social phobia, and obsessive-compulsive disorder), and autism spectrum disorders (including Asperger’s disorder). Dr. Feldman is a former All-ACC collegiate wrestler, and enjoys working with athletes as he has a particular understanding of the stresses and challenges they face. He received his B.A. from the University of Virginia and his M.D. from Duke University. He completed his general psychiatry residency as well as his child and adolescent fellowship training at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he served as a Chief Resident in his final year of fellowship. He is a member of the American and North Carolina Psychiatric Associations, the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and the North Carolina Medical Society.
